If you’re just starting on your planning, this guide is perfect for your if your looking at Des Moines venues or trying to find a venue close by. There are SO many venues in central Iowa, it can be overwhelming. But, the good news is, there are a variety of venues in the area and every one is unique.
There are over 30 venues on this list (and I could have easily added more from surrounding areas!) You really can’t go wrong with any of these venues. If you have any questions about any of the venues listed, please let me know! I’d love to tell you more about each one of them.
Willow on Grand is nestled just between downtown and Valley Junction, giving you many options to travel to locations for photos. This venue is clean, bright, and surprisingly large. With it’s open floor plan, you can design your reception and ceremony layout however you like. A few of my other favorite amenities are the outdoor courtyard, which you can use for your cocktail hour, outdoor ceremony, or just to use as extra space for your guests to hang out. The separate bridal suite is also beautifully done. There’s plenty of space for all of your party to get ready and it’s so photogenic, which makes the perfect spot for your getting ready photos!

The Tea Room is an elegant downtown wedding venue with large windows that let in lots of natural light and plenty of space for you and your guests. At the top floor of one of Des Moines’ historical buildings, The Tea Room includes multiple rooms for you to utilize for both your ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour. It also has a beautiful space for you to get ready for the day in. One of my personal favorite things about this venue is the multiple balconies they have located around the outside of the building. This gives you an amazing view of the downtown area and the sunset when it comes around. You definitely can’t go wrong choosing this venue.
