If you’re looking for a beautiful wedding venue with a rich history, then Salisbury House & Gardens should be at the top of your list. This historic mansion was originally built as a private residence in 1857 by John A. Salisbury. After the City of Des Moines purchased and restored the property, it was also turned into a wedding venue sometime in the 2000’s.
Located close to downtown Des Moines, this venue has a lot to offer. I personally think this is one of the most unique wedding venues in Iowa. The architecture around the building will give you a variety of backgrounds for your photos as well as the gardens surrounding. One of my favorite spots on the property to take photos is the stairway at the back of the building, where the main garden is located. You can get an amazing view of the house behind you as you take your first walk as a married couple!
If you’re looking to have an outdoor, garden themed wedding in Iowa, this is the venue for you!
